NeedleAid™ Ltd. was founded in 1999 to market a syringe and insulin pen adapter for use with self-injection of insulin and other sub-cutaneous injectable drugs.
NeedleAid™ has been designated as a Class 1 medical device by Health Canada and has been patented in both Canada (CA 2269005) and the United States (6,332,875). It was approved as a medical device by the FDA and is 510k exempt.

Laura-Jean Williamson is a registered nurse (BA,BN,RN) and co-inventor\co-founder of NeedleAid™ Ltd. Laura-Jean works part-time as a nurse for a diabetes specialist, teaching diabetes education and acting as study co-ordinator for clinical trials.
